Twin Turbo XR4x4 4.0 SOHC V6 Conversion

I am in the middle of converting my 2.9 Twin Turbo into a 4.0 SOHC V6 Twin turbo.

Are you mad, Why are you doing this????
Well Maybe!!! I want a very fast car, that is a sleeper (ie doesn't look very fast, a wolf in sheeps clothing) that wasn't going to cost the earth to run. I wanted Skyline beating power with Ford runnning costs.

Where is the 4.0 engine from?
It comes from a Ford Explorer. The block is basically an overbored / stroked cologne unit. I have opted for the more modern SOHC model, with a single camshaft for each bank.

What is the standard power of the 4.0?
The 4.0 puts out around 210bhp. But this is an American car we are talking about so once all the smog crap is removed it should put out more than that. So even off boost I should have standard Cossie power!

What power are you expecting/hoping for?
I am hoping to have around 350bhp running 8 psi turbo boost pressure.

What about fuel economy?
Well, lets face it, it can't be good!! Though with the torque that the engine will produce should mean I don't need to thrash the car 24/7.

How are you going to control fuel and ignition?
The best way to do this is going to be from a fully programable ECU. I am currently looking at either a Wolf3D system or a DTA system. This will control all aspects of the fueling and the ignition and can be programed by plugging in a laptop. The ECU will get feedbacks from the Crank shaft sensor, the throttle position sensor, MAP sensor, water temperature sensor, air temerature sensor and Lambda sensor

Parts List!
